HEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!

Okay...I need advice from anyone with experience. I have a BITER!!! Sariah likes to bite Rebekah...it's the only sibling she bites but she does it frequently enough to drive me MAD!!! I've tried to talk to her...I've tried to show her what she's done to her sister...and I've smacked her on the mouth right after she's done it. WHY WON'T SHE STOP???!!! What do I need to do to get it across to her? Anyone who knows...PLEASE...I'm begging you to tell me!

Time outs every time and can leave after the time of their age (2 = 2 minutes) but when they are ready to be good. Just pull them away from the situation & when they aren't biting remember to say: "You're soo good, you aren't biting". As they are older, you can have them sit on the stairs and have to share something good about them for each stair & they're laughing by the time they get to the end and friends again. Good luck. A few little tips.

my pediatrician told me to bite them back:)(not hard tho) He said that alot of times kids don't understand that what they are doing hurts the other person...but if you show them that it hurts...I guess that would work on some kids. I have also heard that kids around the age of 2 bite because their communication skills aren't good and they get frustrated that people don't understand them and they often times feel like that's the only thing they can do.
I don't think any of this actually helps you..in fact I don't know why I am still typing. I will stop now.

Biting is tough to stop. I think it is there way of communicating they don't like something. Austin would bite a neighbor girl & no one else. She was Amanda's age & she wanted to mother him & pick him up all the time. When he was tired of it he would bite her, at least that is what I thought about the situation. Maybe watch what is going on before she bites. See if Rebekah has borrowed a toy away from her without asking! My mom did the biting the perpetrator & swore it cured the situation. Good luck.

ummm.....good luck!?!? Trae used to bite winni all the time! not sure why he stopped, but he did. He started it, I think, because we would "play bite" with him. ya know, pretend we were eating him! We realized we can't play that way anymore. so again, good luck with that one!

I'm really mean....I bite 'em back(not really hard), but it really works. I always feel terrible, but they have to know that it really hurts someone. Good luck!!! Eventually all horrible stages pass!

My parents would also bite us back. Just hard enough to make it hurt but not hard enough to break the skin. I am not looking forward to those days. Good luck
